This pair has glass eyes that glow when logs are burning in the fireplace. The pair measures 17 inches high and 15 inches deep front to back.

Fire place accessories Antique American cast iron tea kettle, this American "cast iron tea kettle" measures 9 inches high and 12 inches long and 8 and one half inches wide.Period antique cast iron tea kettles in good condition are very hard to come by. This one dates from the 18th century in America. This antique tea kettle has its original mold snap lines on its base and lid. Truly a wonderful period American fire place accessory. Excellent condition with no breaks or repairs

Antique Cast Iron New Canaan Connecticut Town Line Sign

Antique Cast Iron New Canaan Connecticut Town Line Sign. This town line sign measures 30 inches high and is 31 and three quarter inches wide. New Canaan, established 1640, incorporated 1801. It is not an original 17th century sign but it was hand wrought from iron by the Silvermine Forge, Norwalk, CT in 1936.This sign was made as part of the WPA Federal Art Art Project. To see a picture and to read more about this sign and the WPA Project see "Rescue and Restore WPA Art in New Canaan". It was abandoned by the town years ago. We have obtained a letter sent to Lauren Nash the assistant United States Attorney in New Haven CT from Richard R. Butterworth Jr Senior Assistant General Counsel for the Office of General Counsel General Services Administration in Washington D.C.stating that "while the sign might have historic significance, we do not consider it fine art. While GSA has pursued the return of other works of art created under the federal New Deal art programs, these signs appear to have been created for the town of New Canaan and not for the federal government. Therefore,as municipal property, GSA has no objection to the the release of any expressed claim of ownership for these signs on behalf of the United States". Antique andirons,This pair of hand hammered Mission style Arts and Crafts andirons measures 29 and one half inches high and 30 inches deep. This pair of "Antique andirons" is truly outrageous.C1910.They are so heavy and beautifully made no one could afford to have them made today. They were most probably made for an Adirondack lodge. Excellent quality and original condition. Make sure you look at all the images to see the quality of the hand hammered detail.
